LANGUEDOC | FRANCE | $16
Soft cherry with raspberry and earth notes, and hints of baking spices, mint and citrus pith bring interest. Plumpish, little more than medium bodied with some heft on the palate and a pleasantly smooth texture. Fairly straightforward and a bit rustic, yet there’s an overall quality that allures. One’s gaze evolves to a stare, captivated but not attracted; she’s interesting, less than beautiful, and you just can’t turn away. 70% Carignan, 20% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre. A good wine.
