Argyle Pinot Noir 2010

Wild red berries, sage and barnyard on the nose, yielding to flavors of fresh raspberry with strawberry and a hint of rhubarb, epazote and stone minerals, finishing with a suggestion of sour cherry. Light bodied, focused and accessible. There’s a wonderfully easy understanding here that belies its complexity — details held back thoughtfully to convey only the essential essence of the whole. The line drawings of Picasso come to mind. A good wine. (Reviewed 9/2/12)
