PASO ROBLES | CALIFORNIA | $45
Robust, mature black cherry fruit with loganberry and blueberry leads the way, and cocoa, nutmeg, dry redwood and a hint of chalk add welcome savory elements. Full bodied and fruit forward with good balance, a firm tannin structure and present but tame acidity. There’s a feeling of luxury here — more than a suggestion, not quite opulent. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah. A very good wine. (Reviewed 5/27/12)
