Babcock Cabernet Sauvignon Vogelzang Vineyard 2004

Lush black- and blueberry fruit balanced by firm tannins. Hints of spice, cocoa, cigar box and fennel. On the hot east side of Santa Barbara’s Santa Ynez Valley, the Vogelzang Vineyard consistently produces among the best Cabernet and Merlot fruit from the Central Coast. A muscular bloke in a well-tailored suit, this. An excellent wine. (Reviewed 2/6/11)
