Domaine le Couroulu Cuvée Classique 2009

Fresh boysenberry backed by red cherry with flavors of nutmeg, graphite, menthol and orange pith. Focused, intense fruit backed with present tannins and a little more than natural acidity. Reveals some alcohol on the nose and finish. From southern Rhone; 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre. As with observing a child who tries very hard, it is ever so natural to effect blindness to the shortcomings. A good wine. (Reviewed 4/21/12)
