Anglim Syrah Reserve ‘Best Barrel Blend’ 2003

PASO ROBLES | CALIFORNIA | $30

Mature black cherry and loganberry up front with a note of grape lollipop and undertones of redwood, cinnamon, forest floor and a faint hint of rosemary. Needs decanting or a few minutes in the glass to align itself; the reward is a smooth full-bodied wine with depth and balance. Enjoyable, though a few turns in this highway would add interest. A good wine. (Reviewed 4/6/12)
