SANTA LUCIA HIGHLANDS | CALIFORNIA | $32
Concentrated black cherry with hints of cooked plum and an earthy base of coriander, toasted fennel seed, cinnamon and tar. Traces of smoke and graphite minerality linger on the finish. Medium to full bodied, with forward fruit balanced by organic groundings. She’s a good-looker, complex and thoughtful. A good/very good wine. (Reviewed 3/24/12)
