Sans Liege ‘The Offering’ 2008

Red and black cherry, raspberry and red plum fruit with a hint of violets. Moderate organic soil structure peaking on a note of iron minerality. Tells an interesting story as flavors meander revealing distinct, sometimes harsh contrasts — perhaps a story not to be appreciated by those preferring a more integrated offering. 41% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 27% Syrah, 2% Viognier. A good, nearly very good wine. (Reviewed 1/2/11)
