Porter Creek Zinfandel 2007

Bright ruby color hints this will not your big, hot-climate California Zin. On the palate, this suggestion becomes truth, as a medium-bodied wine with forward elderberry and blueberry fruit is revealed in sublime layers of cedar, dry leaves and mineral soil with notes of spice and cola bringing complexity. Not so easily type cast, this actor has range and is a steady performer who hits his marks. A good wine, almost very good. (Reviewed 2/24/11)
