DRY CREEK VALLEY | CALIFORNIA | $36
A full-bodied wine — but not fruit forward — with robust flavors of black cherry, fig and grilled peach matched with earth, graphite, bay, cola, anise and clove. A slight hint of smoke adds interest. Well-integrated and balanced, but falls a little short at the finish. All dressed up, somewhere to go, jumps off the metro a stop too soon. A good wine, nearly very good. (Reviewed 4/9/11)
