Ethan Syrah ‘Cuvee Los Alamos’ 2007

Deep, ripe purple plum, red cherry, currant and blackberry accented by cardamom, orange rind and graphite. Medium-bodied With strong mid-notes delivering an earthy, dusty character. A little unusual — not a typical Santa Barbara Syrah, less perky and more brooding — and quite enjoyable because of it. A very good wine. (Reviewed 2/11/12)
