Pipestone ‘Chateauneuf du Pipe’ Reserve 2006

PASO ROBLES | CALIFORNIA | $40

Medium bodied black cherry, loganberry and blueberry integrated with wet cedar, chalk, cardamom, sumac and almond. Nicely textured, gently massaging the palate with fruit, tannin and soil. A gentle smooth-talker, this. You’ll be comforted by its reverberating coos only to fall prey to its sizable 15% alcohol. A California Rhone-style blend. A very good wine. (Reviewed 11/20/11)
