PASO ROBLES | CALIFORNIA | $38
Bright, forward blackberry, cherry, fig and dried plum fruit with notes of graphite, dry earth and camphor. Light-medium bodied, surprisingly so from a Paso Robles Zinfandel, but this one is dry farmed on the hot East Side. 100-year-old vines grafted to relatively young root stock. This adolescent has an old soul but remains playfully youthful. A very good wine. (Reviewed 11/12/11)
