L’Aventure ‘Optimus’ 2008

An absolutely stunning wine. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot, and it shows the best of all. The smooth complexity of Cabernet, the big fruit of Syrah and the wildness of Petit Verdot. Concentrated fruit, complex earth and minerals and racey tannins. Big, soft, intelligent, complex and exciting. WineBark’s favorite Optimus blend to date. A bargain at $40. An excellent wine. (Reviewed 9/4/10)
